cutting turntable Mastering

Mastering involves the production of a laquer (father), which is essentially a mirror image of the final product: your vinyl record.

Our in-house mastering department uses only the latest, top-of-the-line equipment: Pansonic 3800 and 4100 DAT machines and Neumann Cutting Systems and Consoles (with VMS-70 lathe and 74-B rack) to produce laquers from your choice of several sources:

Processing is a two-step process. First a mother is produced using your completed laquer. A final stamper (or son) can be formed from the mother. [We suggest one stamper for every 1000 records you expect to press. In the event that you are using colored vinyl or an unusual size, you can expect to order additional stampers.]

The resulting stamper is fitted into a mold that is used to press your records.

Mastering and/or processing services can be purchased separately or as part of a complete pressing order.

In addition to our mastering and processing services, we provide copying should you wish to convert your source material to different formats.
